Review:
The new title of the famous Egypt-themed series from MumboJumbo sends you back to the world of mysteries where ancient Gods are alive and call for your help, all the legends are true and you are becoming a part of them. One relate all Luxor titles to marble-shooter genre, other add them to match-3 games. I would safely refer them to Luxor genre as this series is recognizable as Luxor prima facie. When we start game we find out that tombs of Queen Nefertiti and her beloved husband Akhenaton were ruined by villains and precious artifacts, helping their spirits ascend to the eternal repose, were destroyed. What a barbaric interference to the famous couple afterlife! Your task now (by the way, you are the only descendant of the queen) is to reveal and assemble Queen Nefertiti's artifact pieces in order to put to rest the restless souls of Nefertiti and her husband once and for all eternity.

Start your quest and explore exotic lands of Persia, Syria, India and other regions of the Near East. For the first time in Luxor series you go out of Egypt to unravel the mystery surrounding the famous Queen Nefertiti and find the thieves who have stolen one of her sacred artifacts along the Silk Road. Are you ready for the eternal quest?
In Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife you will have to collect and assemble seven artifacts. Let's have a look at them. 1. Eye of Horus - search the map for other pieces of artifacts with the help of it
2. Sphinx - unlocks puzzle mode
3. Scarab - adds the Golden Scarabs to levels which you can shoot for bonus coins
4. Statue of Horus - makes it easier to find artifacts
5. Cow of Hathor - makes every treasure a player catches worth additional bonus points
6. Chariot - lets you travel to any city visited to collect artifact pieces and catch the thieves
7. Sun Discs of Aten - helps you to capture a very important artifact, one of the four Canopic Jars
Certainly, you'll notice some new features in the new sequel of Luxor series. Fantastic widescreen backgrounds, new game modes (brand new battle mode), 100 captivating levels and a cute story with narration that unwrap around you as you chase the thiefs. You become really engaged in it, as well as in the game play.Gameplay is already familier to you if you played previous Luxors. You shoot stones and remove lines of three or more with the help of a moving wing shooter. Doing so eliminates the chain of advancing spheres, which you must do before they reach the endpoint of tracks that weave under buildings, through holes and around other 3D objects that obscure your view or prevent shots from landing.

As in all previous versions, there are a lot of bonuses and power-ups. Whatever you like - fireballs, lightnings, slow-down bonuses and other kinds of power-ups make your life easier and brighter. After you destroy a train of balls or complete a level, a lot of precious crystals and ankh coins will be there for you to catch. They add you points and are used as currency in the store where upgrades, new sets of balls and alternative wing shooters are available for purchase. Useful and pleasant, isn't it?
Luxor has become a trademark and if Egyptians had known this before, they would have left us more secrets in order to develop new series of the game every year. So there are no doubts whether to try it or not. It's an hour-free game and you can use it to check if it is worth buying or not. But when discussing the games you play you can not be ashamed by telling "Luxor? I've been there for a week"
